This article on contraception is a must read for every couple. Three quick points: IUD's and hormonal implants are virtually 100% effective, today's IUD is not your mom's and don't forget safe sex. If you're not in a monogamous relationship you still must use a condom even if e.g. you have an IUD. You gotta protect yourself. STD's are still out there. I treat them every week.
