THE GODS OF SLEEP
Most people think that good sleep is a gift from the gods and if the gods don't smile favorably on you, TOUGH! Not true. You will sleep well and wake up refreshed if you practice good sleep hygiene. This means getting to bed at a regular time, limiting caffeine intake and reserving the bedroom for sleeping. The last one is tough. It takes will power, big time, because you have to ban your ipad/lap top/smart phone from the bedroom and forgo late night TV like The Daily Show. If these basics don't work, keep in mind poor sleep is often a symptom of something else like anxiety or depression. Worth checking in with your doc at that point. Oh and don't blame your lousy sleep on getting older. This recent study debunks that myth. The bottom line, you have sleep problems, you can fix it.
