Gestational Diabetes - pregnancy induced diabetes:

Tight control of diabetes is extremely important.

  • Aim for fasting glucose < 100mg/dl
  • Aim for hgbA1c < 7%

The same applies if you're diabetic, tight control is important not only during your pregnancy but also before you're pregnant.  Tightening control before you're pregnant means less miscarriages and newborn problems.
